IL-10-1082G/a gene polymorphism and the risk of acute lung injury/respiratory distress syndrome: Correspondence

Published:December 30, 2022DOI:https://doi.org/10.1016/j.hrtlng.2022.12.011
Dear Editor, we would like to share ideas on the publication “The association of IL-10-1082G/A gene polymorphism with the risk of acute lung injury/respiratory distress syndrome (ALI/RDS): A meta-analysis.1” In order to determine the early warning signs of ALI/RDS, Yao et al. used the meta-analysis approach to clarify the association between SNP at the IL-10-1082G/A gene and susceptibility to ALI/RDS.

Yao et al. came to the conclusion that SNP at the IL-10-1082G/A locus increased the risk of ALI/RDS, with genotype GG and allele G increasing the risk, particularly in Asia.

In addition to allele G, genotypes GG+GA, GG, and GA at the IL-10-1082G/A gene have been linked to increased vulnerability to NRDS,

according to Ya et al. We both concur that the SNPs under investigation could influence cancer risk. It is important to consider the possibility of other complicating circumstances. Some additional genetic variations may have confused the results of the current investigation, although Yao et al. did not examine them.
